Opportunities exist to work on our maize chromatin project (see project www below). We are profiling chromatin structure in select tissues of maize as a community resource. Post-doc projects would involve bioinformatics and genomic analyses of these data sets, working with the UCSC genome browser, or collaboration with FAMU project members to analyze genomic response to drought. Related projects in G-quadruplex (Andorf et al. JGG, 2015[1]) and DNA replication (Bass et al., PMB 2015[2]) are also potentially available and targets for pending or future funding.
Genome analysis, big data analytics, cytogenetics, genome browser proficiency, molecular biology techniques, maize field work and plant crosses, working with research teams on campus and also national and international collaborations.
