Mathematical Biology – bacterial biofilms, optimal control, infectious diseases.
Description of Research Area
I work closely with experimentalists, primarily from biology and engineering, to develop and analyze real-world models. I am almost always motivated by practically important problems such as disease prevention and treatment, or optimal control solutions of industrially motivated topics. I use a wide variety of analytic, numerical and asymptotic methods to analyze my models.

Interaction across disciplinary boundaries (both within mathematics and outside of mathematics). Effective speaking, networking and publications. As much grant writing skills as I have to offer!
