Basic science focuses on mouse models of brain disorders and effects of gene/environment interactions on neuronal differentiation, connectivity and behavior. Focus on neurotransmitter receptors and important cell signaling components during development of cerebral cortical and hippocampal interneurons. Translational projects leverage collaborators in studies of health-related outcomes in human participants, including college students, farmworkers, and members of rural communities.
